LaunchX Summer 2020

its so weird, I emailed them to ask if I could switch my location but they said no. why are they letting people choose preferences now? kinda unfair honestly.

Did they ask you which location you will choose before you are accepted? Or they just give U of M without your premisstion?

So you changed the location after they assigned you?

yeah so basically i was assigned to umich session 1 and i already paid my deposit, but i emailed them asking to change my location because of their new location preference policy, and they said i could switch to northwestern

@kimbokjoo Did you email them before or after the change in location policy? Maybe if you write them again it could help. I will say that I love the Penn campus and would highly recommend it, but I’m starting undergrad there next year so I’m admittedly biased!

@claireoxner YOURE GOING TO UPENN?? CONGRATSSSSS. I emailed them after the location change policy but oh well, I dont wanna annoy them. ill just try to make it work.

@claireoxner do you know if there are any Facebook groups for this year ?

Anyone UMich session 2? Who is going from the Detroit Airport to Ann Arbor city??

@techn0l0g1c I got in at Cambridge location, too! Sent you a friend request on Discord.

GOT INTO LAUNCHX AT NORTHWESTERN

Hi, after doing some research it seems that the Northwestern campus doesn’t do much business stuff? It looks like they just learn during the program, and mostly internationals go to the campus. Does anyone know if there are actual differences like this? Also, is Northwestern’s program residential?

@kimbokjoo Thanks! I’m going to be studying entrepreneurship at Wharton. I think they do Facebook groups when the entire cohort is put together.

@notaloner When I was a student at LaunchX I was on the Northwestern campus. There wasn’t any difference between my session and any others in terms of educational quality or experience. I don’t think that it would be any different this year. Regardless of location, each LaunchX campus offers the same program.

Hey guys, so I applied to launchX as an early applicant, and I thought my application was pretty well done especially because I got tips from one of my friends who already attended launchX 3 years ago and graded applications last year. However, I still haven’t gotten any notification about an interview, and I saw an earlier post by an alum saying not everyone that’s accepted gets an interview so that brought down my stress a bit. Also, I’m pretty sure you can monitor whenever a grader/application reader accesses your application because of the “last edited” dates from what I assume are records of when someone that is not yourself opens your application, and the last time someone opened my application was February 7th, however, it’s been viewed multiple times starting from December 26th, and now I’m just worried that I have no chance of getting in because people that have gotten in have also received their letters and I feel that it’s too close to the final acceptance date that they probably won’t send out many more acceptances. (Have any of you guys gotten a letter today or within the past 3 days?) Plus the times that I assumed they have been viewing my application are so sporadic and widespread. Do any of you guys have the same worries or have any information? I’ve also read on some Reddit threads that they were a little disorganized this year and were behind, but I don’t know how trustworthy those sources are. If any of you guys can offer me any help, information, or anything else I would really appreciate it.

Also, I know those “last edited” dates aren’t times I accessed the application because I got a submission confirmation and some of the times that are shown are in the middle of the night or the middle of my school day.

Also if you got your acceptance through your portal where would it have been?

@claireoxner wharton!!! congrats!!! and thank you for all the help throughout this process, couldn’t have done it without you:)

Just found out I got into LaunchX Cambridge! I also applied to the Wharton LBW program (waiting for decisions to come out Feb. 19). Can anybody tell me how the two programs compare?

anyone else going to the northwestern campus?

Just found out I got deferred from early application to regular decision, does anyone have any tips on how to maximize my chances of getting in or any info abt chances of getting after being deferred?

@helpmetocollege im going northwestern
