US News is really on the UChicago hype this year, eh?

^ Not sure what you’re insinuating but FWIW, QS World University Rankings, Forbes, US News, all had UChicago at #4 for undergrad in 2012 (US). UChicago’s B School and Law school are often top ranked. The only surprising movement upwards here is the med school. I’m curious to see what changes were made to improve the standings.

UChicago’s B-School is down from last year, when it was tied with Northwestern and Sloan for the number 4 spot. I would be interested in seeing what changes caused the slip, especially since it recently moved up a few spots on FT.

This is pretty much the definition of a wash. Law school goes slightly up, med school goes slightly up, business school goes slightly down. Moreover, if you look carefully, you’ll see that UChicago’s actual placement within these lists never even changed - only the numbers did. (For instance, last year, Chicago was listed 6th on the business school list since it is alphabetically below MIT and Northwestern.) Also, despite the fact that Chicago went up to 8 in the med school ranking, it’s tied with 4 other schools.

I would really like to see Chicago move up to 3rd in one of the 3 main graduate rankings pretty soon.
