law school application questions

I go to a big SEC public university, and have a 3.9 GPA in journalism and economics with a 163 LSAT. With that in mind, I have the following questions:

  1. Would my chances at a top school be better if they send me a fee waiver? I have received waivers from and applied to Michigan, Duke, Northwestern, Vandy, and UVA in November (in addition to a top 25 school that threw me a lot of cash and dissuaded me from applying to similarly or below ranked schools). While I don’t like my chances at most of them due to my LSAT score, I figured nothing ventured, nothing gained. I’d be out of state for the publics listed in this question if that significantly matters.
  2. Will being an Eagle Scout help at all with this process? I talked about one of my Scouting experiences in my personal statement as a way to talk about ethics, etc., but I’m not sure if this would come in handy like it does in undergrad applications. I also speak Spanish and German if that helps as well (since schools seems to list languages spoken by their entering classes on their site for some reason).
  3. Is there a good site I can go to that is fairly accurate in terms of chances that one will get into these various schools?
  4. I’m also applying for a Fulbright grant and have yet to hear back in terms of my application status. If I find out in time if I am accepted or not, could a Fulbright acceptance help push me over the top? I realize that my chances aren’t great based on just raw numbers for Fulbright acceptances, but if it helps, it helps.

95-98% of the admissions process will be your grades (yours being exemplary) and LSAT (you are going to get dinged). All things being equal, they will take a look at other items, but they will have a very marginal impact.
