I was just wondering, would it be possible to go to a top law school and then work in a law firm, and use the law firm as work experience to get into a top business school? Would top business programs look at law firms as good work experience? Would it make a difference what type of firm it is?

I'm asking all this not at all because I'm considering it seriously (I'm well aware that this probably isn't the best path to an MBA from a top school). But I'm just curious and want to know if this could be an option.

What about med school after doing MBA ?

I dunno… is it possible??

I think your best bet would be to skip the MBA and just get a PhD in Finance. Then buy a copy of Excel and a basketball. You need Excel to figure out how much you’ll need to earn to pay all of your student loans off and the basketball to practice for the NBA because nobody else is going to pay you enough to pay those off.

it is possible, but usually done by people that realized law was a big mistake, so it is of course non-ideal. you would be shut out from the elite tippity-top mba programs (i believe HBS admitted 0 former practicing lawyers i believe last year) but it does happen at nyu stern et al.
