<p>can someone tell me what ensembles are available for a NON MUSIC MAJOR violinist to participate in at Lawrence?</p>
<p>also, does anyone know how many violinists in the orchestra are music majors (conservatory members) and how many are not? Rough pcts are ok,too.</p>
<p>joecollegedad, I think this pulled from the web site says alot: "Music for non-majors: Lawrence also offers many opportunities if you want to continue playing and performing but do not wish to major in music. All ensembles are open by audition (and no spaces are held for music majors), and there are even special music classes for non-music majors. In some cases you may even take individual lessons depending on your skill level and the availability of the professor." I hope someone else will come on who has an idea of the %'s within the groups. I do know that musical opportunities exist on campus for all types of students. </p>
<p>The great thing at Lawrence is the various career options, work opportunities, internships, clubs, groups that allow your son or daughter to discover their new interests, renew or continue to pursue old ones. Unbelievable as it may seem on a small campus: there is something for everyone. I believe my son is making use of the many opportunities to grow in his now third year then I ever did at USC in LA.</p>
