LD and Elite Colleges

<p>TheYank, Good point. A few private schools are either set up to handle a set of disabilities but many are not. Some, like Proctor, I think, specialize in helping kids with certain LDs. The others are like a factory which works best if they get the right input. If you aren’t the right input, you’ll just get squished and pushed off to the side. I am glad to see you found one of the others.</p>

<p>I was thinking that a boarding school for a kid with Aspergers would be a bad idea. His parents wouldn’t get a sense of whether the kid was picking up social skills, being bullied, etc.</p>

<p>Shawbridge you are definately right, Aspergers and boarding school to not mix too well although I am somewhat convinced that in the right boarding school environment (i.e. a very hands-on housemaster/dorm parent) that a kid with mild Aspergers could thrive.</p>
