LEAP students will be housed in South (McElwain and Simmons) for the Summer. Anyone have any experience with these halls? What should I bring/not bring? Any advice? Also: on the floor plan it says there are two styles: a regular double, and a small double. Anyone do LEAP previously and know if we will get the regular or small?

I lived in mcelwain for leap, its an awesome building. My room was decent sized, but its hotter than hell. Bring fans, my room had 4 and it was still 80 degrees plus at night. Try and get an AC unit, it will keep you cool and it is a great way to make friends because everyone will want to be in your room. But other than that, Id say a TV clothes and other basic living stuff.

Great location. Close to a lot of the classrooms and close to town.

psufan1993, how did the people you knew with AC units get away with it since it appears to be prohibited? What type of unit did they use? Did it vent to the outside? Trying to understand because my D’s biggest concern is how hot it is going to be and that there is no AC possible.

BTW: Housing for summer has been posted on eLiving
