ESPN claims that him going to Miami will hopefully increase Miami University’s reputation/college size hahahaha

Actually it was because they played no defense, with guys like Boozer and Korver being the main culprits. They always played the Lakers early because they couldn’t get a top seed.

Yeah, that’s a bit of a stretch

Well, if they play pickup games at Miami like a lot of NBA stars do at UCLA, it might help with recruiting.

LeBron is a little *****

^ Seriously?

Why are people so angry that he chose another team?

^ People are angry about the whole circus that he and his agents orchestrated. A one-hour TV special to anounce six words (it wasn’t ESPN’s idea, it was LeBron’s). Seriously? It’s also about the disrespect he showed fans and Cleveland and the other teams by purposely drawing the whole thing out and keeping them on a string being such an attention whore. The sheer hubris of referring to himself as the King when he hasn’t won anything.

I’ve hated Lebron his whole career and he just ruined his shot at ever being known as a top 3 player.

fistpump

Nope, people are angry because he “betrayed” him. If they didn’t want to know, then they shouldn’t have watched the program. And the proceeds are going to charity, so what difference does it make. It just business. How many athletes are not in it for the money/championships?

FOX 5 New York; < People booing him while he arrives for his friend’s wedding.

^You have no idea what you’re talking about. People from everywhere including places that didn’t have a vested interest in the transaction (i.e. NOT Cleveland, Chicago, NY, or NJ) HATE him now. You think they feel “betrayed?” You still failed to notice what I think is the operative phrase in that article you linked: “self-proclaimed king”

He’s smug and vain, well beyond normal pro athlete levels. Hubris comes into play because he hasn’t done jack sh** to back it up. You’re allowed to run your mouth when you’re a GOAT like Muhammed Ali or Michael Jordan.

As for the proceeds going to charity? Please, he could’ve just written a check and spared everyone the charade. He looked like a moron. Donating the money to charity was just ploy to reduce his perceived level of vanity from incomprehensible to unbelieveable.

And obviously it’s a business. But you think Michael Jordan would’ve acted like Lebron? He sent a TWO WORD FAX (“I’m Back”) to announce his unretirement in 1994. He didn’t parade around like an attention whore and he was considered even then to be among the greatest if not the greatest. People like Lebron are role models who are emulated, like it or not. MJ was mine and everyone else I knew’s hero growing up and I’m glad he was a class-act. If you know anything about MJ, you’d know that money/championships were ancillary to his love of pure competition and desire to be the best. Lebron’s b****ing out. He’s not 10% the competitor MJ was.

Michael Jordan was clearly a ****** too. He just had a better PR rep.

Don’t conflate cockiness with being a *****. He was cocky but he backed it up.

It’s not about backing it up. If the Heat win the next 5 championships it wouldn’t justify the decision show. People might forget it though. There aren’t many mentions of Kobe’s adventures in Colorado anymore.
