Legacy or not?

I just found out alumni from graduate school, though may count as a legacy by some colleges, is not given the same weight as an undergrad alumni during college admission. Is that true? I feel so sad about that. :frowning:

It depends on the college.

File it under “It is what it is.”

Personally, I think the whole “legacy” thing is sad (unfair, elitist and outdated)

Filed. Still sad.

Astro, you’re right. Wonder why they have this tradition. It works against the diversity they said they’re looking for (superficially).

Couldn’t your connection to alumni still help you explain why you are interested in that university? Seems like you can make use of this information in some way, although it may be of little value.

CheddaecheeseMN, you’re right, that’s definitely a plus. Though I vaguely remember the school. Graduated too long ago. Lol
