I'm not sure how I ended up with this problem... Okay, here's the story.

For all my schools records and my account on Collegeboard, my name is listed as, EnglishName ChineseName LastName. However my legal name only include, ChineseName LastName. When I submitted my applications for colleges, I was advised to put EnglishName ChineseName LastName.

But what should I put on the CSS Profile/FASFA since they have to check my financial stuff with my SSN (which uses ChineseName LastName)?

I have the same exact problem :/

I just recently had to deal with a student who had the same issue. It took us awhile to get all the changes through the federal processor properly. You must use the name that matches your social security number, or everything will bomb out. Please talk to the school about this and let them know that your names are different --- they will help you.

@ kelsmom - thanks for your advice! Did you just file everything under the name that matches the SSN and then call/email the schools to make sure that the financial aid forms made it into the file?

The student called us to let the aid office know, and we were able to set up her file properly.

Oh! That makes it even more helpful. haha.
Thanks so much!
