Given the year that we have all had and the enormous pressure that seniors typically face, now add the whole COVID year and all of the sadness, isolation, uncertainly and delays, you would think there would be a little more consideration from schools. Regardless of how accomplished, well-rounded, mature, etc these kids are, they are after all only 17, 18 or 19-year-olds, and I don’t think that enough consideration is given to that.
A quick question. For OOS, is Lehigh location a disadvantage to attract students?
I’m from New York and I do love Bethlehem. It’s a quaint small city.
We are in Louisiana. Getting there sounds a little more challenge compared to other big cities, like NYC, Boston, etc.
Lehigh is beautiful for sure.
If you can fly into Allentown that’s the closest airport…30 minutes. Boston and NYC will be more direct for certain.
Possibly although many schools are located in places a little further from an airport.
My daughter received an acceptance email today at 3pm but no change in her portal. Anyone else?
Same for several of us.
But no way to get to Lehigh from NY airports as far as I know and Boston is four hours from Lehigh. I agree that getting there isn’t all that easy and we would much rather stick with Southwest and they don’t fly to the airport closest to Lehigh. Philly is about one and a quarter hours away. I wonder if anyone ever flies out of there.
Newark(EWR) and Philly are just about equidistant from Lehigh. If you were to connect through Newark into ABE by United, remember that it is bus (with a UA flight #) that goes from inside the TSA security (on other words, no need to pick bags in Newark).
Good to know! Thanks!
If we choose Leigh, we will drive there (2 days from our home). After that, the commute between college and home concerns me.
Philly is definitely the closest airport with regular flights from major airports, and it’s pretty much all highway from the airport till you’re a few miles from the school. American has a hub in Philly so there were lots of flights. Not sure how that’s changed due to Covid.
Wasn’t aware that Newark was that close but it makes sense.
i was just saying to my family how weird it is that i’ve now received two emails inviting me to “admitted student events” from lehigh yet there’s no decision on my portal -_-
So far I haven’t gotten any emails from them aside from the “Prepare for your decision” notice they sent out on Monday
Are decisions today or Friday??
I still haven’t heard anything.
i was told decisions were on friday but it’s possible they’re coming out by friday instead of on friday
i think it was on a wednesday last year. ed decisions were released 2 days after the “make sure your portals work” email which we got on Monday. i was accepted early as I was invited to DLife like some other people, so clearly they are ready to be out I don’t see why they would wait till Friday. colgate comes out today and many schools similar to lehigh have been released on Wednesdays. so I’m being hopeful its today.
An email from Lehigh to say she is accepted? Not saying decisions are now in the portal?
