Less emphasis on test scores?

An interesting article that talks about some possible changes that gt admissions could implement:

It’s a strategy to increase diversity.

If the admissions criteria don’t give the kind of diversity you want, then get rid of that criterion.

Here is another article relevant to admissions that came out today. http://www.news.gatech.edu/2016/08/02/preparing-changing-landscape-college-admissions?utm_source=dd&utm_medium=aug3&utm_campaign=admissionpanel

Examples from other top engineering colleges on these trends:

MIT and Stanford offer holistic admissions. There are pros and cons . Cal Tech does not seem to, its more of a strict meritocracy. (if you will ) Cal Tech , therefore is less diverse than other top engineering colleges. I think U of Texas or the state laws in Texas, they have strict diversity quotas to reflect the racial makeup of Texas, and there have been lawsuits about this. Texas students who cannot get into UT Austin have sued the state of Texas.

For this reason, very high demand for spots from Texans, very few out of state students are offered spots at UT Austin Engineering . That would be a shame if that happens to Georgia Tech too. It could.
