This was an amazing story. Congrats!
your stories gave me chills, literally, from beginning to end. i found myself smiling. wow wow wow, congratulations, although you’re close to graduating Princeton now, huh…? I am guessing that you had/are having an amazing time there. Thank you for your inspiring story.
I’m pretty sure your essays and recs did it for yah. Those two were the best mediums to show how disadvantaged you were in the admission game.
Though it’s a bit of a bummer to hear MIT rejected you, congrats!!!
Well done. Hard work, clear goals and perseverance paid off.<br>
As a parent, I can attest that when your child truly blows you away, it’s sometimes hard to respond.
May I simply suggest that you try to build on your relationship with them. As equals. You’ve proved you have the right to that status. Don’t give them the ability to prove their commentary was correct.
When all is said and done, remember to pay it forward, as your teacher did.
I’m so glad someone bumped this thread, this was such a nice story to read after going through the application process myself. I can relate to it and all I have to say is hard work does pay off. Congrats!
The OP stated it nicely:
“So, the lesson of this story, don’t hold back on applying to anywhere because it is too much of a reach, you just may have something they’re looking for an not even know it! Don’t let others drag you down, no one else may understand why you are working so hard, but in the end it will pay off.”
How do you like Princeton so far??
