Watch parts 1-11, then post how you feel in this thread. The link below is part 1. It will honestly probably be the biggest waste of time in your life. Even if you don't feel like watching it, post something about String theory in here.

String Theory is to Physics as
Religion is to Logic

Both are based completely on faith. There is no scientific evidence to back either. How can the scientific community accept such inconclusive rationalizations about String Theory? Wasn't the experimental process invented for a reason?

There isn't....except for fun.....except not.....debating about string Theory is like debating why people have faces that look the way they do....

That's all I needed to hear. I just wanted to make sure that other people thought String Theory was ridiculous as well. I just watched the documentary, so yeah.

Met Fan....wait, you're kidding right? Are you serious? You didn't know we are all living on a piece of bread? Who are you? Some crazy religious fanatic who doesn't believe in science? Dude..open your eyes and take a bite of the earth. Dude..seriously.. come on....

It's not completely ridiculous. String theory it its true form is an incredibly complex model that theoretical physicists are looking at as a possible way to describe the unification of the fundamental forces.

The big problem is that it's a trendy area of research and it lends itself well to pseudophilosophical tripe like the "What the Bleep Do We Know" series, so not only do people not understand it, they think they have an opinion on it. There are precious few people outside of physics who truly understand quantum mechanics, so next to nobody can possibly understand hyperdimensional string theory.

There's evidence, but at this level of abstraction it's not evidence that you or I could understand.
