lets talk about $$$

Fendergirl: I'm sorry if I wasn't clear (I think you posted while I was typing my response). My comment was directed to Hazmat, not you, since he/she seemed to imply parents should pay for students to do something nice on spring break. I've never gone anywhere--I usually stay at school for various reasons.

my parents said that they'll give me about 100 bucks a month...that is a pretty good deal for them because theyre not paying a cent for tuition, room and board, or my meal plan. After a few weeks of getting used to my class sched. and other obligations, and decide if there is time for an easy part-time job. I would like to be a lifeguard or something at one of the many pools on campus, since ik that that is an easy, well paid, and relatively stress free job. I will have about 1000 bucks saved after working this summer, but I'm thinking I'll use that to get a new car. Right now i have an suv w/ terrible gas mileage, and since I'll be driving from home to school (and many ppl use cars around campus and on weekends), I need a car there that will be more economical.
Though I'm grateful to my parents for giving me any money at all...I'm afraid 100 will not be enough for clubs, drinks, fun, etc...it might be though, i'll have to see when I get there.
