Letter of rec on Common App v. letter of rec on supplementary applications

Hello,

Currently I’m a Junior in high school preparing to apply to college in the upcoming fall. I am especially interested in applying to USC School of Cinematic Arts, but I have a question on their supplementary application. The supplementary application calls for 3 letters of rec. Do those letters have to be different than the ones you put on the common application or can they be the same?

Because If not, I was just thinking to send in my counselor’s letter along with two other teachers.

I am planning to apply to John C. Hench school of Animation and Digital Arts (if this information is relevant or necessary.)

Any insight is appreciated.
Thank you!

According to the USC Cinematic Arts website one letter of reference must be from an academic teacher. Altogether any recs submitted as part of the common app count towards the three. If I recall correctly, when my son applied to IMGD two years ago he had three in addition to the counselor letter. The three were from very different teachers; music, English and math.
