hi, i'll be applying to a music school with my GED and some of the require a letter of recommendation for admission or for scholarship, but the problem is I don't have any teachers that can write it for me. Does anyone out there have suggestions for me as to how i can get this letter, and from whom?

How about a music teacher? someone you have worked with in the community? If you are part of a relgious community, how about someone there? If nothing works, use your parent.

Do you have a job? You could ask your supervisor to write one. Have you ever done volunteering or been in some sort of music club? You could ask the leader of the organization/club to write a recc for you.

I have the same problem with you! I don’t have a teacher except some tutor help from my dad. But I have worked in a kindergarten as an English teacher and I also have organized a NGO and volunteered in some organizations. So I’m going to ask the principal of the kindergarten and my co-founder or leaders in NGOs to write me recoms.

I’ve entered a singing competition hosted by a indie record label before and the music producer was a judge and I know him after the competition because there were only very few finalists and have him on facebook as well. could a music producer who only saw me in the competition possible write a recommendation for me to apply for the scholarship? or would I have to find someone else? I don’t have any current music teachers or volunteered anywhere so I don’t know what to do… I really need this scholarship…

People who know you better can write stronger recommendations, but there’s no reason not to try with the judge if you don’t know anyone else. Good luck!
