Letter or Recommendation from a former boss?

<p>I was wondering if having my former boss write me a letter of recommendation is a good idea or if this is frowned upon? I am applying to CCS (College FOR Creative Studies) which does not require a letter of recommendation though they are accepted. She herself graduated from CCS so perhaps having a letter of recommendation from an alum might help my chances? Over the summer I worked with her and group of other students to paint murals.</p>

<p>Also, if I provide her with a pre-paid, pre-addressed envelope should I write in a return address? If so to which address?</p>
