Letters of Rec: Rose-Hulman

I'm applying to the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, and I had a question. Rose-Hulman wants at least one letter of rec from either a counselor or a teacher. Now, I'm definitely getting my counselor letter of rec; my question is, should I also get a teacher letter of rec? I'm asking because my teacher has written a lot of letters for me, and I think she's tired of it, and so I'd like to avoid getting another letter from her if possible. However, since Rose-Hulman does rolling admissions and its so late in the season, I'm wondering if I'm going to end up /needing/ to send a teacher letter.

My stats, for reference:
2370 SAT R (800 CR, 800 M, 770 W)
35 ACT (36 M, 36 R, 35 E, 34 S, 31 E/W, 8 W)
800 SAT S Physics
800 SAT S Math 2
770 SAT S US History
Ranked ~5/500
UW GPA ~ 3.95

I have a number of clubs, and a number of leadership positions within several of them. Positions I've held in these clubs include president, treasurer, mentor, team leader, secretary, tutor. I have done volunteer work, research, language, speech, music and more

I have a number of awards -- local/state ones in speech, math, writing, and national ones in research (awarded space on NASA flights)

Every summer I've gone to an academic summer program. Particularly, I went to RSI 2005.

I submitted a supplemental essay in addition to activities list, awards list, abstracts, etc.

Opinions?

I know Rose-Hulman is a great school (with several no. 1 ranked majors in the nation) but I still can't see someone of your calibur going to Rose-Hulman.

Have you considered MIT and Cal Tech? Or is R-H your safety school?

It's not a safety. I think it's at least a match, and I want to make it a safe match if at all possible, which returns me to the letter of rec question.

it doesnt matter, the only reason they would turn someone with your stats down is if they feel your just using them as a safety (which you are)

I hate to do this, but bump. Any more input on the original question? Thanks to those who have already replied.

I think it depends on how much Rose-Hulman wants the rec. The fact that they only require one letter probably means that they don't put a lot of emphasis on recs. I know that may sound sacrilegious to some CC people, but it would appear that admissions for engineering schools differs from admissions to other university departments. The main thing for engineering candidates are the SAT I Math score, SAT II Math2 score, and to have EC's such as working on cold fusion or building brains. If R-H says that the additional rec is optional, take their word for it. I doubt if they are going to worry about you too much when they see the GC rec.
