My Junior year comes to a close in about 2 months and I want to get a jump start and ask my teachers for recommendations before the year's end.
However, I'm still deciding on who to choose. I know for a fact I will ask my English teacher from this year as I've not only done extremely well in her class but she's the moderator of NHS where I've been extremely active and have accomplished some pretty nice things.
However, I'm torn between asking my PreCalc teacher and my APUSH teacher. I participate much more heavily in APUSH and actually have a passion for the subject. However, I heard that colleges like a Humanities and a Science/Math teacher recommendation. I know my PreCalc teacher will give me a glowing recommendation but I can't help but think that it would just be a list of clichéd adjectives whereas my history teacher might be able to have some small anecdotes to add.

Lastly, I was wondering about the benefits of sending a third letter of recommendation. My English teacher from Freshman year hasn't taught me in...well close to 3 years...but I spend every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday in her classroom for Model UN and Debate as she is the coach for both. I put in about 6 hours a week (just in class time with her, does not include outside activities with other members) with her. Would this be worth adding as a third recommendation or would it be too much as most schools only recommend 2?

Thank you so much!!

P.S. My history teacher will not be returning next year so I would need to get a recommendation from her before the year's out.
