<p>Let's say that you could get a letter of recommendation from a top professor at the school you are applying to. </p>

<li>Is this allowed?</li>
<li>How much would it help your chances of getting in?</li>
<li>How much would it help if you are applying to, idk... MIT</li>
</ol>

<p>If this professor actually knows you, and can write a good recc, I certainly doubt It would hurt.</p>
