<p>nDoes anybody know anything about UC's in general and how to go about notifying them that I had an illness? If my couslor wrote a letter, would they even pay any attention at all? I mean, UC"s are mostly formulaic, and how would I know that they even read my GC's letter reagarding an illness I had that Cuased my GPA to plummet 2nd semester junior year?</p>

<p>I would suggest putting that information in your personal statement in answer to one of the questions.</p>

<p>Last year, one of the 3 UC essay questions focused on any challenges the applicant had to face. My S talked about tearing his ACL 2 weeks prior to final exams 1st semester of junior year and facing surgery the day after exams were finished (he was a 3 sport athlete), causing a dip in his GPA.</p>
