Liberal Arts College (Bard) vs SUNY (Stony Brook)

Hey. I got accepted to over 12 colleges but have narrowed them down to 2: Bard College and Stony Brook University. Both schools will cost roughly the same amount of money and they're both close to home (NYC) so distance is not a problem.
I've visited both colleges and Bard is clearly more beautiful and aesthetically appealing and I think I would get along better with Bard students than Stony.
I have no clue what I want to do in the future but I have a passion for history and political science. Are the political studies and history programs well known and good at Bard? Do many students at Bard move on to PhD's ?
How are Bard's science programs (especially biology)? My other career option would be physical therapy but that is only based on money and what my parents would want me to do.

If someone could help me out or give me any advice then that would be awesome. I would definitely rather go to Bard but I'm not sure about future opportunities ( i.e admission to graduate school.) I guess what I'm afraid about is that not many people know about Bard ( everyone i told was like wth is that) and that my opportunities after graduation would be limited. Other than that I completely love every thing about Bard and think I would fit in with the student body

Thanks!!

Based on what you wrote, it sounds like you have a decision.

You sound like you really like Bard, and I think that is the most important factor. Go with your gut, and don’t worry about what other people think!

And, if it makes you feel better, I live REALLY far away and I’ve definitely heard about Bard! (All great things!)

I’ve visited Bard and am quite high on it, although D did not apply. I think Bard can be whatever you want it to be as long as that doesn’t include politically conservative. Lots of opps there, including bio internships in the big apple. Bright kids, highly critical kids, when you ask them if they like Bard they hesitate and then frame their answers so that you see that they’ve given Bard (and presumably a lot of other parts of their lives) some examination. I’ve visited and been impressed by the relatively new science center and laboratories. It is indeed a beautiful, big campus with a lot of personality, some of it quirky, no doubt.
