Liberal Arts Colleges in between HAVERFORD and GETTYSBURG?

OP, more schools are offering this Skype option to students who want to interview but are nowhere near the campus or an alumnus. I would guess that most students interview with an alumnus, not with an admissions officer

LOL… Berea is not cheaper. The reason they keep cost low is because 100% of students are on 4 year full-tuition scholarships. NO one at Berea pays any tuition.
It is very hard to get in. It as an acceptance rage averaging at 12%. And they operate like the IVY’s in terms of international students - one per country and sometimes none form a country as they only have between 30 to 40 seats each year for international students.
Education is excellent it is ranked in the top 70 LAC’s , but use to be under the regional South, where it was consistently ranked number 1. I guess last year they decided it was way overdue to be under the regional ranking and updated it to LAC. But it is not your typical LAC based on theway it operates, free-tuition, etc… It is also ranked best Value beating out all the IVY’s in that category.
Not why why you have not heard of it, but I am sure many students from your country are aware of it.
It is one of those school you do not put your hopes on, but apply and if admitted, lets just say…“YOU WON THE LOTTERY”.
I always encourage students to apply because you never know. But do not bank on it due to competition, but DEFINITELY apply, and let nature do the rst.
So…

Sorry, maybe my post wasn’t clear enough. I have never been to the Richmond campus, my post was about Mount Holyoke (where my niece-in-law went). She is quite outgoing and seemed to enjoy her time at Mount Holyoke socially, though. :)

@Hoolala “Could you tell me what that international student majors/majored? (So that I can make a general assumption that Mount Holyoke is famous for the major that the student was trying to major in…? )”

Not sure what that student intended to major at the time of application. She probably applied for math with an intention to go to a finance career. I noticed that many international students from Asia like to major in math or chemistry/biochemistry. I do not personally know anyone in the dual degree program, but MHC’s dual degree of engineering seems to be more feasible than the similar programs in other LACs. (See https://www.mtholyoke.edu/acad/engineering/dual_degree</a>); at least they listed all the forms for application. You may ask specific questions on majors at the Mount Holyoke forum.

Hey everyone! Thanks for the comments.
I have trimmed down my college list to (considering your comments + many other reviews) these seven main ones:
University of Richmond (reach)
Haverford College (reach)
Colgate University (reach)
Mount Holyoke (high match)
St. Olaf (match)
Calvin (safety)
Baylor (safety)

Here is another dilemma that I’m facing right now, and I REALLY need your help!
Please check this thread out:
<a href=“SUPERSCORE!! - SAT Preparation - College Confidential Forums”>SUPERSCORE!! - SAT Preparation - College Confidential Forums;

What kind of financial aid do you need, @Hoolala? Can you afford 30kish per year?

For internationals seeking aid, Mount Holyoke and St Olaf are reaches too.

@International95‌ Hi again! I will be the happiest if I ever get a full ride, but 25k is probably the maximum. Also, I expect 5k-10k (if I’m very lucky) can be covered up from itzy bitzy scholarships (music, South Korean organizations, churches, charities… etc) so 30k may be affordable! That’s one of the reasons I am trying to excel in my SAT scores at least to have a firm numerical basis.

Okay, but what kind of aid do Baylor and Calvin offer to internationals?

You should consider adding Lake Forest and Lewis&Clark to your list as your list only has reaches and two safeties.
