Doubt that would happen. More likely, someone with a lot of time and patience will go through the Northwestern thread to see if someone’s ECs and decision match up to this, then taunt them.

People are rarely held responsible for these things, unfortunately.

@worried lol i was planning on starting a flame war with you for the lulz but lol i’m not going to be a dick and tell the adcomm xD if thats why you’re apologizing

Dude, the admission guys have neither the time nor resources to double check the applications. You are lucky to get in with an application full of lies. Just remember that don’t do anything stupid that’ll drawn negative attention to yourself while in college or else you might end up like that harvard kid that got expelled and sued. I think they found out about his fake application when they found one of his paper was plagiarized. What a dumb ass!

I suggest you delete this thread before adcoms DO see it, duh. You could have asked this in a college chat room where it would not remain up for everyone to see.

But really, you’re taking someone else’s place. Someone who truly should have got in (Without Lying) I know this probably doesn’t affect you in the slightest or make you question your moral character, but think about this— what does this say about you in the future?

I do not really see where you improved yourself dramatically with embellishing EC’s and creating lies.
The truth would have been almost as good. Why would you do that to your own self esteem. Now you will think that the only reason you got in is because of unethical actions.
The problem I see is that you will continue to sabotage yourself in this way thinking that your own merits are not good enough. What a shame.

^wow you guys seem more *ed off than I do. It doesn’t matter. * happens and we move on with it. it’ll get to him later, but w/e who cares.

NU was my favorite school, I swear, possibly people like these racked up a lot of spots. Honesty has zero value these days, in any case, I don’t blame you or any one, at least I’m content that I played fair and lost.

worried135 - if it’s discovered that you obtained admission under false pretenses, not only could your admission be rescinded, but your degree can be taken away from you if discovery occurs after you’ve graduated. I hope you’re exaggerating the degree to which you lied; I’m trying to figure out how your GC and other recommendations allowed you to get away with misrepresenting yourself on the application.

Do you intend to continue lying in college? Cheating? What you’ve done is a form of cheating - you’ve made yourself look like a stronger applicant than you are without having earned your acceptance.

Did you post this thread via a home computer? Did you use a proxy? You are only as anonymous as your IP address. And you will always be looking over your shoulder at NU.

Perhaps you should consider coming clean with the admissions office.

yeah, right, I don’t beileve you for a second all this drama, worried135, since you would not be dumb enough to ask here at this site where adcoms like to put their comments too.
You sound like a ■■■■■ to me.

My belief is that when somebody posts a thread like this, it’s really somebody who is contemplating lying next year and wants to know what the risks are. After all, why would anybody be stupid enough even to ask the question if they already applied and got in? It’s too late to do anything about it. Furthermore, if you think the OP identified his real college, I have a bridge in Brooklyn I’d like to sell you.

I would also say that the list of lies described by the OP are remarkably stupid. Would somebody really risk getting rejected from their schools in order to claim that they were in an EC for two years rather than one, for example? Little lies aren’t likely to help you, and you’re much more likely to get caught for big lies. So don’t lie.
