Typical life of a CMU design/art student?
Hi there! CMU College of Fine Arts student speaking. I don’t know if you’re still wondering about this, but here’s what I’ve found:
-The workload is intense.
-The studio is your second home.
-You will be learning more than you ever thought possible.
-People do drop, or flunk out. If you are not passionate about what you do, you may find yourself in a very difficult place.
Does the College of Design have less strict admissions requirements (than other majors)? I’m wondering about my chances of getting in:
SAT: 1910 (590 math; 720 CR; 650 writing)
GPA: 3.8
3 APs completed (including a 5 in Photograph); currently taking 4 APs
Have volunteer experience (Co-Director of tutoring program for 4th graders) and am the editor of the yearbook
Not sure if CM is right for me, but the Design program looks good - interested in communication (graphic design).
You thoughts are appreciated!
