Life is good

I'm a junior and going crazy. Glad to hear that it will be worth it. (Unless I don't get in, and im stuck in the grinder for another couple of months. Wow life sucks...)

(Oh and yeah, I already know my stats are way to low, but w/e. I can dream...)

thecornerofparadisethatismine: practically any concentration is lucrative. Businesses recruit Harvard students, not certain Harvard concentrators. After all, no concentration really prepares you for a career--it offers you a lib arts education, like the packets always brag. A Harvard student is a Harvard student.

I'm in pretty much the same situation you are. Nothing like leaving the house to hang out with friends downtown at midnight on a Wednesday.

I can't lie, it is a rather excellent situashe.

It feels like it's been so long since I've gotten in. Crazy to think about how some kids don't know where they've been accepted yet.

Hmm, I really have to say thank you to Joker for starting this thread. I came back this evening to read what I wrote and was like "???? That's all I can say about my EA admission?" I think I've been too caught up in the logistics/choosing between schools and future careers/financial security and bringing myself down. You're right that we should all be trying to live it up in the good life. So: no more worrying! Whee!
:):):)

Well, you're very lucky
I hope you enjoy it
Good luck in Harvard.... learn as much as you can

What type of stats did you have to get into Harvard. I will be applying and i would like to know if i have a chance.

Well, my friend, knowing my stats has absolutely no bearing on your own chance, unless you are from the same school in the same state, are of the same ethnicity, have the same background, and have identical extracurricular activities and essays.

In case you're still wondering, ~2300 on SAT, ~790 SAT II's, 3 5's and 2 4's on AP's, 35 ACT, and class rank 1 (3.9 UW).

Peace boy.

Are you the coolest kid in school?

That seems to be the general consensus, but don't take my word for it.

Ooh, how my forebrain boils with jealousy.

Just spoke to my son, who is a freshman at H. He's in the middle of midterms, and it's clear he feels somewhat innundated and pressured. There's no question, it's an academically intense place (and yes, he is a science major, taking upper level physics and lifesciences this semester). Regardless of the so-called grade inflation reputation, it does get very pressured there during midterms and finals. (and I'm not used to hearing him express this, since during h.s., that was never the case no matter how much he undertook). That being said, he does really love it there--he just loves it less during these periods. But, I remind myself, I don't think it's any different at a Yale, Cornell, or any other similarly demanding place.

I like Donemom; I share your opinion.

As for the others, why be a hater when you could be a lover? Don't hate the playa, man, hate the game. Don't hate me because life is treatin' me well.

I'll peace you boys later.
