My son has been in contact with a lot of Ivy coaches and is a lightweight candidate at 162 lbs. They seem interested. His erg is just below 6:30 and I’d be surprised if he didn’t improve that before the end of the season. But I’m getting nervous about his SATs. Just breaking 1800 and I don’t know how much higher he can get that score. Good student - mid 90s GPA; hard worker. Are Ivies a pipedream at this point? Should we cut our losses and start looking at other schools?

crewpop – has he tried the ACT? Is it accepted by all ivies and many kids do better on the ACT than on the SAT. it is worth trying – it may get him the score he needs to get into an Ivy. Do you know the class rank (if the school ranks)?

ACTs might work. Class rank is about 50 out of 450
