"likely" email?

I was on hold for like 5 minutes lol must’ve been other CCers calling ahead of me ;)

OMG, I got this too!!!

Thanks R124687. Certainly was a lot of wishing and money down the drain. I’m sure since it’s an email it went to all the accepted applicants I could assume? Even though they usually don’t invite ALL of the accepted students they also have never done it by email before so I’m just going to assume the worst. That’s okay guess there’s something better out there for me. Boooo this process, haha.

i got this email too. which office did you guys call? i’m assuming it’s the number listed here ([Contact Us](Questions)), but i just want to make sure.

sorry if anyone actually said this already, i’m a little excited and probably missed it

@shan421…You “like” me…you really really like me! (you’re probably all too young to know what that actually is…Sally’s Field’s Oscar acceptance for Norma Rae).

Back to our regular programming! Cake and ice cream for all y’all (cuz you’re too young for anything else…but I’LL be happy to hoist one in all your honors this evening!).

Dream school dream school dream school dream school.

BUT - @ theatreca…I’m assuming a theatre major. YOu know, I was an acting (not making a living, but getting paid) for awhile. My d WANTED to audition for Steinhardt MT. But she was SO worried about the low acceptance rate…she knew it was a CRAZY long shot. She wanted NYU more even than her major…and switched to CAS, hoping to minor/participate in ensembles, etc. So I KNOW that, IF you “auditioned”…I feel like those turn downs are even worse. Not “stats” based. But…as I learned in acting class…one must have the soul of a poet…but develop the hide of an elephant. Doesn’t help, I know.

I’m HOPING that maybe these ARE just the first round. BEST of luck.

Hehe oh yes!! Got accepted! Feels good  now waiting for the financial aid package gulp

@R124687
If thes, are the “invites” then that doesn’t necessarily mean you didn’t get in. Last year for March 2009, they had an FAQ about invitations and they said that not getting one doesn’t mean you’re rejected.

is there an international student who received such an e-mail?

Okay, these ARE acceptances?!
I’m just is disbelief right now.

yea im an international student…from india… got this email today :)

yes!! conversation:
me: “hi! i just got an e-mail from NYU that said “Book your tra–”
ambassador: CONGRATS you’ve been accepted! Welcome to NYU!!”
me: crazy happy!! :)

congrats to everyone!! who’s going to accepted students days?! where is everyone from?

is this just the first batch?

I got it too… Tisch/Cinema Studies.

When you called to ask if it were an acceptance, what exactly did they say?

@americanidol: at what time? what college?

They said “CONGRATULATIONS! You’ve been accepted to NYU!”
i was like…seriously?? the email was so vague. if they were going to confirm it so clearly, then why didnt they just write “YOUVE BEEN ACCEPTED” in the email?

I’m also an international student from Peru and got the email about an hour ago  I’m so excited!

@Stupefy AGREE!! i thought they would be just as elusive on the phone, but they shouted at me, knowingly  hahahah yay! not complaining!

I got it at 12:42 AM  i applied to the college of arts and sciences :)

I did not get that email…
I got one from NYU HEOP yesturday … if that counts
I live in Harlem so NYU is like 30-40 min away by train on a good day (ppl who use the subway know what i mean lol)
Maybe the “select group” is qualified applicants who live far away

is that your local time? congratulations to all of you by the way!

is this the only batch?
