Likely Letter Arrived from Case Western in Mail, Anyone Else?

Hi @bopper I dont think I am allowed to do that?

I wasn’t questioning your “likely” notification, just commenting that while we have received quite a bit of mail, no likely letter yet. Congrats!

Sorry for the misscomunication!. Thanks again

@div3athelete no problem, only if you are comfortable sharing

I dont think I am sorry.

I am assuming @div3athelete is recruited for a sport?

@div3athlete are you recruited by Case to play a sport? Which sport? that may be why you got a likely letter,
if you are considering other Division 3 teams , they want you to know early. “Sports rules” even at nerdy schools like MIT and Case these days. I guess Case is no longer nerdy if they are spending that much time on athletic recruits.

I don’t know about CWRU specifically, but schools that make use of likely letters typically send them to non-athletes as well.

Yes i am recruited for a sport! @Coloradomama @gardenstategal @Mwfan1921 and I agree with you they do.

Anyone applied CWRU PPSP ?

@Gjessi2020 why don’t you start a new thread to ask about PSPP

First and foremost, congratulations. Being an NCAA student athlete is an elite pool with less than 7% of high school students. If you base it off of an elite academic university and it’s less than 1%. You and your family should be proud.

Was the LL based on EA or ED application ? Son was recruited athlete for 2021 and received LL for EA and eventual acceptance. Ultimately decided to attend UChicago.

Daughters (Non-RA) are torn between Case and UofR GEAR. It will be an interesting couple of weeks waiting. Was so much easier playing the recruiting game.

Hi , Firstly thank you so much for your message , It really made me happy. I had got a LL based on a ED. Yes it is much easier for recruited athletes because we get a pre-read. I had got recruited at UofR but I love CASE, and given it is in the UAA division(With Uchicago which is very cool!!) , I am excited. I agree with you on also case being such a elite university, it is just not recognized as much but it is an amazing school. @fbsdreams

Don’t know that it matters at Case in regards to what “school” you’ve applied Admissions said during presentation that they have an open admit policy.
Could you share the sport you are going to be playing? Thanks

Congrats to you, @div3athelete ! Do you mind sharing your sport? My son received a letter from the football recruiter, which we found odd since he had zero expectation of playing his beloved football after high school and had not tried to be recruited. He let the email go unanswered, which my husband and I were very conflicted about, but it’s his life. (We previously told him no college-level football, since a successful engineering career requires a healthy brain!)

Congrats on having the choice of UoR, too! My son is a double-legacy and has no interest in attending, even though they have a very strong Engineering program, particularly their Optical Engineering.

@melb004 I kinda agree with you on this one. Also Im not sure im comfortable with putting it out there, sorry. @LuvsLabs But thats great that your son got recruited! Congrats, Case is top 16 in div 3 which is really good:). All the best ! Hope to see him in class of 2023!

any new intel on when we hear EA decisions from CWRU ?

Sounds like it’s Wednesday

ty! CWRU is my DD’s reach and would love nothing more than to get into the Nursing program We hope years of EMS & hospital volunteer work can overcome a below 30 ACT… fingers crossed.

good luck to all

less than 8 hours to go… pins & needles !
