Harvard Freshman parents weekend is Oct 26-27. What kind of activities Harvard plans for this program. When kid was in prep school, school have social activities, sports, musical performance and information sessions for parents. Would Harvard have similar activities planned out? I am trying to book a hotel. Therefore, I am wondering if you could provide necessary information. Is there a website link for parents weekend activites? Thanks

The Parents Weekend site for the Class of 2011 isn't posted yet, but here is the site for the Class of 2010: http://www.fas.harvard.edu/%7Eparents/fpw/

I'd imagine the schedule will be very similar. You'll want to go ahead and make hotel reservations. You can get a fairly good rate (for Boston) as a H parent at the Harvard Club of Boston, 3 miles away on Massachusetts Ave. If you take that option, you can pick up the #1 Bus right outside the club, at the corner of Mass Ave. and Commonwealth Ave., and take it directly to the Harvard gates for $2.

Thanks for the links. Had a great time at move-in weekend and I can see why Harvard students love the immediate area so much.

Harvard Square is an amazing place and we saw/met many students from other Boston colleges there.

Also met many wonderful parents. Such an energetic and positive college. The upperclassmen who help at move-in were tremendous.

Be sure to attend the a capella concert in Sanders Theater during Freshman Parents Weekend. Wonderful singing.
