can any one find the CDS for Arcadia University?

Wouldn't it be easier to just go to the National Center for educational statictics? http://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/cool/ Just plug in whatever college you want and you'll get their info.

kathiep-- yes, perhaps if one wanted only a quick overview of a limited set of data fields. Appears to me that the NCES database uses the latest CDS as their source for their summary data. The CDS has MUCH more info (on undergrad), including the raw numbers and other fields not reported in NCES (e.g., early admit stats), however NCES does have some nice graphs not presented in the CDS (but the numbers are), as well as searchable query function, which is nice.

One area that NCES reports more info than the CDS as it appears to me: Graduate areas, such as grad fields of study. The NCES ties together nicely the undergrad & grad fields of study, particularly if one wants to search out programs.

Also, many of the CDS web sites that are reported on this thread contain a history of CDS submissions, allowing a reader to do some trending, for instance on minority enrollment; I found only the current year in the NCES (perhaps old years are in an archive somewhere?)

Finally, the limited amount of information available on the NCES may be handy if the school does not make public their CDS, as is the case documented through this thread for Harvard, WUSTL, Fordham, and many more. Of course this info may be largely the same as reported on the US News electronic database, but NCES is free.

Response to post #9, re: applicant pool at Harvard: an applicant obviously does not fit the profile of the top 50%, or even even the top 75%, to be admitted-- 25% of those admitted didn't. Applicants should look at the odds realistically and recognize when slim chance is really no chance.
I want to go back and look at the data-- what percent of applicants with perfect SATs were admitted? what percent with 2100?

The school I want to look at wants a username and password and won't let me in. Is this common?

sushi-- yes, I have seen several, like Notre Dame & Union I recall, that show links to a CDS or Institutional Research page, but are password-protected.

if you'd like, let us know which school, & we can try the search also.

Hi - I just checked Wheaton Mass's common data set. They require a password -- any chance of getting it?

sorry 114rmr, I couldn't get past the password protection. I'd call the IR department & ask for a guest password...no harm in asking.

University of Notre Dame ??? Your data is amazing Papa Chicken ! Thanks

SJCMom-- I cannot take credit for the wonderful database that richs73cas has put together here...I am just one of many contributors....but thanks from all of us!

U ND.....one of the several major universities that keeps their CDS under lock & key....at least its not accessible on the web for those of us without a username & password.

btw, there are more & more 06-07 CDS's coming out now the past few days...haven't bothered to keep posting them. If you want to check on your schools of interest, suggest you back a few thread pages to rich's main link listings & see if the update is posted via his links.

Does anyone have the link to Lake Forest's common data set? Thanks!

lovelykittycat-- sorry, no luck. I found reference to their Institutional Research dept (keepers of all things CDS-like), but no links to their IR page or to their CDS. I suspect IR is under the president's office (deduced from departmental coding info), so if you really, really want their CDS, I'd make a phone call....nothing ventured, nothing gained!

Try this website -- It's not the offical Common Data Set but appears close.
