....absolutely ridiculous, on the judges' part.

I agree with that. I came down and was very enthused about seeing my friends' performance, but her group, like the majority of the other groups, were wrongfully gonged off stage. It's an absolute slap in the face, not only to the performers (esp those who worked hard to learn the dances) but also to those in the background who helped with choreography, music, costumes, ect....The judge who did that was obviously drunk during the entire event and should be reprimanded.

I agree. I know one of our members is going to the board to ask for half our money back -- the fee was really expensive and for our groups to get gonged less than a minute into dances they worked really hard on is just ridiculous. I realize it's for a good cause, but if we'd realized we were just going to make donations...

Plus, I really wanted to see a lot of the groups' performances. It was a really strange and upsetting night.

What is this about?

Lip Sync is a performance contest, in which the groups that perform and guests are charged money and all the proceeds go to charity. There is a panel of judges and usually they only gong performances that are too raunchy. This year, however, most of the groups were gonged because one of the judges was beligerantly drunk.

Were the gonged groups intoxicated as well?

not all of them.
