List of Perpetual CC Threads

Last 2 posts are exactly correct. This forum is NOT the help desk for those who are too lazy to look for basic information on their own. It is almost like some want us to do their research for them and report back … ummm sorry, I’m busy too !!!

Chance me for any ivy! I can’t write a coherent sentence, can’t spell, and can’t be bothered to proofread before I submit!

lol marysidney! Spot on!

And within the past hour or so yet another “international student needing full tuition” thread has been started as well!! LOL

There is something a bit off-putting about the idea that you think some other country’s colleges should offer you aid. It rubs me the wrong way.

Ex does not want to pay kid’s college cost.
My parents don’t want to fill out my CSS Profile and FAFSA.
My parents will not file income tax return before April 15.

@pizzagirl: me too

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using CC App

(1) My kid received an invitation to Expensive National Honor Society. Is it prestigious?

(2) OP elicits large number of responses, but doesn’t come back to the thread. This doesn’t discourage the respondees, who keep building on each other’s speculations.

“I got a brochure in the mail from Harvard. Does this mean I’m in?”

Don’t forget the ones who misspell the name of their dream college. Like “Standford” and “Berkly”

Ah, how could I forget:

CHANCE ME 4 HARVARD, AMHEST, STANDFORD, MIT + OTHER IVYS

Eternal facepalm.

And haven’t even found the caps key yet, or the enter key to create paragraphs.

A currently active thread started by a well-meaning father. I have to just say, really?

BEST THREAD EVER
and if I ever do any of the things complained about, please knock me senseless with a pm

And I must add (and I am sure as a newbie I added one of these):

What colleges are good for students with LD/ADD/ADHD/?

 • poster may say nothing else about needs, abilities or interests of student

-responders focus on one or two well known schools or programs for students with significant needs, even if totally inappropriate for poster’s high achieving/music conservatory/art and design/etc student
-responder mentions ramps and physical accessibility

Chance me for Wellesley, Smith, Mt. Holyoke. Do you think I can get a football scholarship?

Here’s my list of 100 colleges I found on some international website. Which ones can I get into with a full ride?

Need help!
Urgent!

a) My father just got a huge raise, or
b) we just inherited a bunch of money, or
c) we won a large monetary prize

and now we don’t qualify for the taxpayers to fund my education. How can we hide this windfall?

Am I going to get rescinded?

Coolweather…isn’t it:

I got my first B…am I going to be rescinded?

“S going to friend’s home for Thanksgiving; what should I do?”
“College just announced tripled doubles for freshmen; what should I do?”
“My D’s RA just came out as transgender. What can I do?”

In each case, not what does CHILD do; rather, what do I the Momma do? The blind spot, of course, is that in each case the parent’s opinion and action are totally irrelevant.

That last incident actually happened to my D and she wrote her a congratulatory note.

If your kid is the same gender as the RA’s “old” gender, then ask if you can have the clothes that the RA no longer needs. Poof, new wardrobe! always thinking ahead …
