List of Public Colleges that Have BFA Acting /Musical Theatre

Kent State in Ohio. Daughter is starting there in the fall BFA MT

My D is entering her junior year in high school. We’ve been looking at several colleges that offer a BFA in MT. There are a lot of great programs out there. Back in May, my D competed in the Classical Singer competition, and they had several colleges there to speak to. We were extremely impressed with Central Michigan University. They informed us that they do offer in state tuition in addition to merit scholarships. Also, take a look at unifieds http://www.unifiedauditions.com/universities.html. This a weekend long process of auditions to several universities that offer BFA in MT. Doesn’t hurt to audition for all the schools, since this is a very competitive process and you can also see what each school has to offer financially.
Good luck!

@yjcjn1997 - unifieds are great… but just FYI, you don’t audition for ALL of the schools there…

Yes, even if you wanted to, it would be virtually impossible to audition for every school!

My D almost picked Ball State in Indiana. With the academic scholarship, it was a good deal. And Sutton Foster seems to be popping in there ocassionally.

Ball State would be a great choice. My D just finished there and received excellent training… And Sutton is an adjunct professor there, so getting to know her was a definite plus!
