Where would the HSHSP and Garcia summer programs rank?
Would they fall under “7 - Selective summer programs or competitions”, or lower ?

My ranking: added in Tournament of Champions for Debate, and moved mere national qualification down to 6 and put “breaking” (or making into elimination rounds) at 7 (because if you consider the number of students who qualify for nationals for all speech and debate events…it’s well over several hundreds). Put ISEF finalists as 6.

Where would Model UN awards go? Does it depend on the caliber?
Like a Best Delegate at a large Regional conference or a Best Novice Delegate at a district conference?
^I don’t know a whole lot about the tiers of MUN, but regional awards generally are at a 2 or 3 because calibers for different regions vary too much. It’s easier to rank national awards because everyone’s on the same plane.
Hi, I am new to CC. Where does National Chess Master go in this ranking? Or top 10 in National Chess Tournaments? Thanks a lot!
What about Boy State and Girl state?
My ranking: Moved Art and Writing Regional Gold award to 4 (it’s top 7-10% of REGIONAL entrants). Moved AIME qualification up to 6 (2.5-5% of NATIONAL entrants + it’s essentially the USAMO semifinalist).

AIME qualification isn’t the same as USAMO semi finalist…
where would a US Patent for science go?
How do I actually do any of this stuff? Like how do I get any of this? Do things like this reach out to you or are you expected to seek them out?
We’re missing FIRST Robotics awards. The team awards are obviously only prestigious if you can prove you played a significant role in the team’s success (leadership position(s), letters of recommendation, etc.). Prestige will vary at the state level depending upon how competitive the state is. In some states, more than the top 5 will advance to the next level. (and I’m not counting just top robot score as top 5, also counting Inspire Award/Chairmen’s Award/any award that allows you to advance). I also did not include FIRST Lego League awards because most people will only participate their first year of high school, if that.

Moved down NOSB; it’s definitely not on the same level as selective summer programs (e.g. MITES, RIT, PROMYS, etc.) I don’t know if it’s just my school, but it’s fairly easy to get on the A team here and we’ve been to nationals for the last 10 or so years, placing every year…

what about placing at nationals for HOSA or FBLA?
where would book awards such as Harvard Book Award go?
Isn’t AIME qualification too high?
Well (since I bumped it up), my logic was that, since usabo semifinalists = 10%, and AIME qualifiers = ~4%, then AIME >= USABO semifinalist.
Honestly, I think this scale is a little inaccurate, and AIME doesn’t seem to have a fair/accurate placement. It shouldn’t be one below USAMO, but it shouldn’t be below USABO semifinalist, IMO (pun intended).
Yeah, I know USAMO and the ARML Tiebreaker Round is significantly harder to make than AIME. The FIRST Team Awards also seem to be way too high
Where would a national merit winner, finalist, etc. go on this scale?
It’s on the list at rank 3.
BRB, got to go bump my version of this thread so I can get another 14k views.
Where would USNCO Honors rank (top 150 in nation)?
