I have: 8, 8, 8, (7), 6, 6, (5), 4, (4), 3, 3, 3, (3), (3), 1, 0
@Anonymoose3 where would you put the things that I asked about on the list?
USSYP, Intern for US Congress, Boys/Girls Nation/State, American Legion Oratory Contest
I would put national medals for Science Olympiad at a 7. Division C is HARD, and once you factor TJ and Solon you’ve got almost no chance at medaling.
i’m so disappointed NSHSS is a 0
all jokes aside, i have a 10 that i’m not sure is a 10 - maybe because i’m an international but yeah
I have a 10, 9, and some 8’s. I think this list is a bit skewed. For example, an actual journal publication (first or single author, depending on field) is far more prestigious than Siemens or Google semis.

Guys, in what place would EUCYS(European Union Contest for Young Scientists) EIROforum Special Donated Prize be?(EUCYS is basically the equivalent of Intel ISEF in Europe but countries from all over the world participate in it)
@Starior probably about a 7-8, given the smaller pool of participants.
What do you guys think the USAAAO (USA Astronomy & Astrophysics Olympiad) would be? You can place nationally, and the top 5 of the national qualifiers represent the U.S. team at the International Astronomy Olympiad.
@neoking can’t be too high on the list unless you place at the International Astronomy Olympiad. To the best of my knowledge, very few people competed in USAAAO.
Do few people compete in USAAAO because the elite students don’t know about it, or is it because the small amount of people that take it are self-selected, and therefore ARE the elite astronomy/astrophysics students? (In other words, is it easier or harder or the same level of difficulty as making another olympiad’s national team?)
Yes to both (?)
What about the international brain-bee competition?
Hi, What is SSP in #7 ?
Where would Moody’s Mega Math Challenge fit in? It’s a nationwide math modeling contest, and you can get finalist, semifinalist, or honorable mention. Obviously these are subjective rankings, but I’d just like to get a general idea.
@vwchong SSP is the Summer Science Program. It’s a research program in New Mexico and Colorado, where you do astrophysics research and data analysis for near-earth asteroids.
Generally how good are two #7’s and numerous #1-5’s?
@ZealousScholar I’d say that’s pretty good, but it really depends on the specific EC’s.
Might be a stupid question, but just to clarify, the 6 for FBLA/TSA Nats is for winning at nats (like top 3) not for just attending nats, right?
Hi guys!
