Duke asks the applicant to list possible areas of academic interests, but I'm wondering if listing "undecided" is a good or bad idea. I plan on applying to med school in the future, but I'm thinking about pursuing an English major or entering the interdisiplinary program. I know that if I'm accepted I may have a few years to decide upon a major, but I'd appreciate any input from premed students. Also, I'm looking for more infor about the interdisiplinary program.

I'm premed. I'm majoring in classical civilization. It's all good. Major in anything you want.
As far as listing undecided, it's fine. I don't think they really expect you to follow through on anything you put there as a high school student anyways.
By interdisciplinary, do you mean Program II? Have you looked at this page:http://www.aas.duke.edu/trinity/program2/? I actually considered it at one point, but the fact that it has to be 15 courses or something and that you can't pursue any other majors or minors kind of made me opt for the traditional degree situation. The good thing is that you get out of the regular curriculum requirements (but your program has to be balanced in some way, of course).
If you have any specific questions about premed I can maybe help too.

You can also do an interdepartmental major, where you combine two majors. Not quite as flexible as Program II, but still interesting.
