Listing of OOS Courses in the UC Application

I am an OOS applicant, graduating from a high school in Kansas. I took several honors courses in my 9th, 10th and 11th grades besides a number of AP courses. My school offers both regular and honor courses in many subjects for example Algebra II and Hon. Alegbra II. Honor courses are much higher standard than the regualr courses. However, they are obviously not from an accredited California high school. UC Application instruction says-

UC approves courses at all accredited California high schools as meeting the 'a-g' requirements. Some courses are approved as honors-level courses, meaning they require higher standards. If a course is not designated as such on your high school's course list, or if your school does not have a UC-certified course list, do not select 'HL' (Honors Level) for a course, even if your school calls it an honors course.

My dilemma is if I declare my honor courses as Honors-level, it may not be appropriate because they are not from a CA school. If I declare them Non-Honors Level, then I will lose the weighted grade point average. Can any one advise me what should I indicate HL or NHL.

Put “Honors” in the course description but put NH for the honors level. You are not getting the extra grade point one way or the other because UCs do not assign extra grade points to OOS honors courses. But the “Honors” in the course description will alert the readers that you took more challenging courses.
