I’m honestly really confused about how the transportation is going to work, because I haven’t gotten any additional details about the transportation.
@lordfrieza I got the general time ranges for the check-in on the original email, but nothing on the airport shuttle times. On one of the emails, I believe it said that the shuttle would arrive periodically at JFK and LGA, but no further information other than that. I am confused as well, because I filled in the transportation form, but there has been no response.
our are roommates college students or each other?
@milkypug I believe it would be others from the program, because the program has accountability over the students and it is with other program members for other camps.
Do you guys think we’d be rooming with people from summer honors but different programs? Like Im doing future health professions but my friend is doing The UN program so I emailed to see if there was a chance we’d room together but no answer. It’s not a big deal cause I’ll be forced to make new friends anyways haha
Has anyone found out more information about travel? I’m getting kinda worried about the travel plans.
@lordfrieza I would call and ask about any questions you have
do yall know if we’re allowed off campus and whether or not theres a curfew ?
@potatoepotatoe That’s what they told me when I called. I never got an email from them… when did you get it? Also what were the times they wrote in it?
So, I haven’t been able to reach anyone, does anyone know how the pickup is going to work like who’s gonna be picking us up and where we should meet them at the airport?
@aerofan18 The email I got was the notification that I had gotten into the program, which I received about a month after I applied. It also said that the times would be 5:30-7:30 pm drop off on July 15 and 10 am - 1 pm departure on July 20. Hope this helps!
@lordfrieza I am currently arranging separate transportation to the LIU campus, but have no information on the pickup times.
@Kanger0o my friend is at liu post this week and he told me that they do roomchecks at 11 but it’s just to make sure you’re in the building but after that they haven’t set an actual curfew and you can go to different the rooms. Not sure about leaving the campus tho but from previous years i’ve heard that they do
also they made a facebook page for the health professions program i think it’d be cool to get to know some of the people going
i got an email about the activities for camp next week and one of them is coney island which ive never been to. should a bathing suit be brought?
@amh1002 It is optional according to the packing list.
for anyone next year or in following years interested in applying to this program, I say do it and pack lightly. I packed so much and didn’t wear most of what I packed. It’s probably the most fun and completely free program you’ll go to. I highly recommend Health care professions because the people who talk to us are great and the activities are awesome. I made long lasting friendships and met really cool people from all over like California, Iowa, Canada and more. Such a good experience and I’m so glad I applied but my only wish would be for it to be longer!! This program made me even more excited for college. Feel free to message me to discuss more about the program or anything else!!
