Living Communities

How far apart are they from each other? Walking distance-wise?
Buildings within the communities and
communities to other communities?

I lived in hinman for two years and from my personal experience, walking from one end of campus (ex. Hinman to Dickinson) took about 10 minutes depending on how fast I walked. Depending on if you take some shortcuts that you will learn, it might take a little less. The communities that are right next to each other are generally a lot closer. For instance, I used to live in Smith Hall and was able to walk to Mountainview in a minute. If I lived in Cleveland, which is all the way at the other end of the Hinman Community, getting to Mountainview would take a few minutes to get to. The buildings within the communities can be as close as a few feet or 1-2 minutes away. These times may vary by person depending on how fast they walk and what way they take to get where they need to be. These are just what i’ve experienced.

The overall feel of binghamton university is a very walkable one. I have some friends that need shuttles just to get to CLASS, whereas at Bing, I’ve never really found a problem walking anywhere. Even bubble tea which is “off campus” is close enough to be a 15 - 20 minute walk…
