Lizards at Bryn Mawr College?

What is all this I keep hearing about lizards at Bryn Mawr??

Bryn Mawr has many symbols and traditions that can be seen displayed everywhere from keychains to architectural details. While Athena (our patron goddess) and Owls (our mascot) are the most prominent, there are many other icons that are also important and carry much meaning. In keeping with our traditions, only as a Mawrtyr may you be fully versed in the iconographic vocabulary of this college ;)

Thanks for the reply- but I know about Athena, owls, lanterns, the “duck pond run” that isn’t, bedtime stories, Hepburn, etc, etc, etc. I just don’t get why you send each other lizards…

Some traditions are especially for Bryn Mawr students to know, and for you to find out when you become a part of the community! If you’re truly curious, I would encourage you to become one of us and find out for yourself ;)
