LLB to American Legal Career

I’ve been given offers for Law at KCL and Law and Social Policy at Edinburgh. I’m waiting to hear still from UCL and LSE. Does anyone have experience with LLBs or know what path most Americans who study law abroad and want to eventually practice in the US take? Would I go to law school to get my JD after or just need to earn an LLM to be employable? Any advice/perspective is greatly appreciated

Back in the last century, I knew a person with and foreign law degree who carefully crafted a Master in law so that the missing requirements for preparing for the bar in that person’s state of residence could be covered. The rules in that state may have changed by now, and in any case you would need to follow the rules in the state where you intend to take the bar exam.
