Location matters (acting)?

Hey everyone

I'm starting to look at grad schools for acting, since I'd really like to go into that after I get out. Of course I know there'll be an audition, exams, etc, etc but my question involves the location of the school. I've heard some schools have good acting programs (ie Northwestern) but aren't situated in LA or NY, which is pretty much where you need to be to get acting work. I'm curious if anyone can chime in here...will I be sacrificing opportunities by not limiting myself to NY/LA schools?

Northwestern is right outside Chicago, which has a heavy-duty theater presence. Many, many, many big shots got their start in Chicago theater.

Now if your concern is film theater, NY doesn't have that either. And film theater is very happy to draw from stage theater. So don't discount Northwestern.
