Location of law school= job?

Just curious here, does location of law school correlate to where you would most likely get a job? If student A wanted to work in DC, should student A go to law school in DC? What about a close state, like VA or MD? UVa= DC job?

What about a Ivy-league school? Say student B went to Harvard but wanted to work in DC, would he have just as good of a chance as student A since his law school was Ivy-league?

I'm only a high school student, but I was just curious considering the way the job market is for lawyers; didn't know if the location of law school mattered in getting a job as well.

Thank you.

Basically, the top schools are reasonably portable to different locations. The rest have quickly decreasing regions of employment. So Harvard can send people anywhere, but UCLA is really only good in CA, and Loyola is only good in Chicago (if there).

The " top 14" are the ones that send nationally, but even beyond HYS, there is some advantage to being local. Outside of the T14, it is all location.

Okay, thanks.

Agree - the top 14 have a national reach.
