Long shot for an international Student?

Hey

I am currently a student going into my final two years of school in Ireland. We only do 2 years of what could be descriped as High School. I moved to Ireland last year from the United Kingdom where I was born and attend secondary school. After getting average grades in my final secondary school exams, I decided to push myself futher and get into atleast a world top 20 univeristy (Harvard, Columbia or Stanford being my main goal) I plan to major in Business. I am a first generation college/university student, from all sides of my family. My parents got divorced which is my reason for moving country. My family is pretty average in terms of wealth etc.

I will be studying
Advance English
Advance Maths
Economics
Business
Physics
Biology
Applied Maths

I will do everything possible to get the highest possible if not full marks in my final exams
I plan to also sit the SAT exam and SAT II, and get near full marks in all of them. I know it sounds arrogant to say I am going to get these marks, but I believe it is what I need to do to get into one of the worlds best universities.

I am a soccer and tennis player, aiming to captain my schools soccer team in my final 2 years. In my last school I was elected in the first student council in the history of the school. I plan to get myself elected in my next school as well.

My problem seems to be the differences between the USA and ROI's education systems, it seems to confuse me of what type of grades I need to be getting, even though I will not be satisfied with anything but the best for myself. Also the USA seems to have all these good programs etc for students while ROI seems pretty limited. (Please keep in mind I have only been living in the ROI for a short period of time, so I may not have a full understanding of how things work) I believe I will need A LOT of these to raise my already micro chances of getting into Ivy league, Oxbridge or SKY.

Next summer I plan to heading of to South Korea, for the Korea University Summer School, to develop a understanding of foreign culture which I have a great interest in. I also plan to achieve top grades there.

I plan to update this post as I progress more and learn more about how international applications work.

Many thanks to everyone
