^^^Yes, but did you notice that discussion has been turned away from ND?

well let me steer us back on topic

NOTRE DAME.

(sits back and relaxes haha)

Is this a five minute argument, or the full half hour? [Argument Clinic](http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-572077907195969915#)

Go Celtics!

Oh, and wherever you are in this country, you’re in Red Sox Nation. ;)

monydad, yep I remember UCSC had very high average SAT’s in the '70’s. I was very surprised to see how it has gone downhill since then.

But UCSC’s slide is nothing compared to that of some other academic institutions,
such as the Royals or the Pirates.

I love how we’re comparing MLB teams to academic institutions :)

When semipro and minor league junior pro teams are represented to be academic institutions, it’s just a trivial extension.

ha!

how about Notre Dame’s slide in football from the glory days?

Notre Dame thread are so long because all of their CC members seem to think its the best school everz!!!

Most schools on CC have one or two people who are detached from reality and think their school is #1…but ND seems to have 25-30

Actually, according the USNWR it is number 20!

Agreed. I would accord USN&WR the number 20 slot too. Yea, peer assessment!

IMO the source of conflict about Notre Dame is due to split between its quality level of its undergraduate school and graduate school. The 2010 USNWR has Notre Dame No. 20 among National Universities. The yardsticks used for rating undergraduate education among National Universities has Notre Dame much higher than No. 20.
Average freshman retention rate: No. 10
Undergraduate Teaching at National Universities No. 8
Highest 4-year graduation rates No. 1
(Graduation rates are for National Universities.)

Graduate school rakings for Notre Dame are much lower than No. 20.
Psychology No. 74
Chemistry No. 67
Computer Science No. 63
Engineering No. 51
Business School No. 31
Law No. 22

Is there another school with a bigger split between undergraduate and graduate rankings?

What schools are the mirror image of Notre Dame, excellent graduate rankings and lower undergraduate rankings?

The PA score of ND is 3.8 WAY BELOW other top schools.
