First off, I want to let the mods know that I'm perfectly alright with them moving/mutiliating/destroying this message, but I just didn't really know where to put it. Anyways, I'm a long long time leacher of CC...believe it or not, about 3 or 4 years, and I just wanted to let someone/everyone know that I've fallen into the trap of CC! I resisted making a username for all of these years because I read about the horror stories of the addicting nature of this website, but I've fallen in...my senior year! Anyways, I just wanted to let you guys know that there are people reading CC who haven't created user names just like me...or atlest like I used to be.

The word you are looking for here is *lurker.*A "leacher" is someone who practices bloodletting.

thanks for clearing that up for Anonymous99...lol

Welcome. I'm scared of lurkers. Just because someone told me he knows like everything about us people who post a lot, and I post a lot :D. Well, anyways nice to see you and hope we can assist you!

Yes, lurker is correct.

No, leacher is incorrect. A bloodletter would be a leecher.

Perhaps OP was thinking lecher. Lecher - A man given to lechery. Lechery - gross indulgence in carnal plesure. (Websters dictionary) Still incorrect, but closer perhaps in the context of CC and addictions it seems to cause! :)

For future reference, this would go under the Cafe, methinks. Anyway, I think I prefer "lurker," CopterMom!

How anyone could lurk on CC and avoid the addiction/temptation to post is beyond me. It's not to late to become addicted, you know. I joined CC halfway through my senior year. :D

I didn't think about non-members reading my posts. I wonder how many there are...

I don't see what's so addicting? I mean, I like this forum a lot and post on it several times a day...but I don't think it's addicting :p

Just be happy you didn't start lurking as an eigth grade like me...:p (presently a senior)

My tale is even more pathetic than young Stacey's. I started lurking at the age of 26 while a Senior in college.

haha...lurker vs. leacher...the word in computer langauge...ask anyone who uses a program called bittorent...is called a leacher; anyways, there's no sense in defending this stupid mistake...i can laugh at myself! Anyway, it was hard resisting creating an account on CC, but the fact that my sister had one and was ALWAYS on it really told me about the addictive nature of the forum. I'm rereading these replies to my message, and I'm thinking, who would look up words in a dictionary over a post (COUGH COUGH CopterMom)! I think it's amazing how everyone here really pursues something with that type of attitude. I'm rambling here, and I really don't know what I'm trying to say...hopefully someone else over here can help me out...you guys seem to be good at that! I guess it is a scary thought for all of you to be thinking of nonregistered users looking at what you write. You'd be surprised, though, that a search in google with the right words can take you literally to a certain post...a search for PSAT cutoffs, I believe, brought me right to a certain CC post. Anyways, thanks everybody.

haha...i'll try not to go back into disguise, but you never know...with these college apps, i've got to cut down down time!

bittorrent one is called a LEECHER. sue me. i'm gonna argue with you on this. :D

I swear I posted in this thread yesterday.. but it's gone..??

someone probably reported you...

but I didn't use foul language.. the post had a 'peaceful' 'happy' connotation to it..

anyway, welcome annoymous..!
