I need help finding my daughter a small college on the east coast that accommodates a dyslexic learner. My daughter needs down to earth kids, and either a dance club, team or minor! Thanks for any input!

Does it have to be a place like landmark? I’m dyslexic and I’m Applying to place like brown and umich

Muhlenberg? Goucher? Juniata? Not sure what kind of dance or what your D’s scores are…

It really depends on the level of support she will need. If you haven’t done so already, I’d talk to her teachers, guidance counselor and anyone else who works closely with her to try to figure that out. I know a couple of dyslexic kids who have done very well at Ivy League and equivalent schools, some who go to schools with supportive tutoring centers and others who continue to need a lot of support through college and go to schools such as Landmark or Lesley’s Threshold program.

Again we don’t have enough information to give great suggestions (ex. GPA/SAT). But in general, I think the above suggestions are good. Look at Curry (MA) also. And if you want to consider some mid-size colleges, I’d add Quinnipiac (good tutoring center) and Marist (which I think has a special program for students with learning disabilities) as well.

Thank you for some fresh ideas! I will check back after she takes her SAT’s in May!
