Looking for a set of stainless steel pans to use with induction stove

Kids have a new (to them) home, and they have an induction stove.
I’m looking for suggestions for a starter set of pans?
I don’t want to spend more than 400 or so. I don’t know that they need one as big as these, but this is what I’ve found searching for a few minutes. They already have a very nice all-clad sauté pan that’s very large, if that matters in recommendations.

Thanks in advance

(I took actual links away, bc I seemed to be able to see more information than just the pans)
Tomorrow this will be on sale at Costco
kitchenaid-11-piece-5-ply-clad-stainless-steel-
These from Amazon look interesting
Tramontina-80116-249DS-Induction-Ready-NSF-1

These show up on a couple of “best of” lists
Cuisinart MCP-12N Stainless Steel 12 piece Set

Tramontina received rave reviews on an older thread about cookware.

I bought All Clad when I got an induction range. A chef friend recommended Cuisinart as a “great affordable option.”

All Clad is very pricey…but excellent. I think this poster was looking for a lower price option.

I have all clad d5 pans in my kitchen, and I love them, but I’ve heard people say other options are just as good for less.
If anyone sees any great deals on all-clad, totally fair game with me. I’d pay a little more for them.

Thanks

I think the Cuisinart is exactly that!

All Clad used to have factory seconds sales twice a year at the factory near Pittsburgh. I believe one is early December. I’m assuming they still have it and they might have put it online too.

Thanks. I get ads for their sales, but since this is a gift I don’t think I want seconds.

Paging @BunsenBurner because I think she might have answered this in the past…or knows an idea.

OP back again.
If someone recommends not going with a set, but a couple of high end pans of certain sizes, please provide recommendations.

How do people feel about this brand? @deb922 - I think you have some? There appears to be a great sale right now.

What brand are you talking about??

Thanks for the edit!

Oops - forgot to include the link - thanks!

My kid has all clad pieces…not a set. She has two different size frying pan, two different size saucepans, and a Dutch oven. That’s it. Those are the pieces she uses.

Bloomingdale’s has a 7 piece All Clad stainless steel set on sale for $399. Williams Sonoma also has some All Clad stainless steel on sale. Not sure if it’s what you’re looking for. So many choices, I’m looking for new pans as well but having a hard time making a decision.

Le Crueset has a stainless line and it was marked down at their outlet when I was in last week. Their regular enameled cast iron works with induction as well and sometimes you can find great deals at the outlet or even Homegoods/Marshall’s.

I’m a big fan of the HexClad pans. If you are looking for a full 20 piece set they are on sale now for $599. But you could just do the fry pan set and supplement with a cheaper set of pots.

Just an FYI….I had serious decision paralysis when it was time to get my induction cookware (it might have been me that started a thread last year). I finally threw up my hands and got a set of plain Jane Farberware on Amazon and it’s FINE. I also got a couple of All-clad nonstick skillets at Homegoods.

One of these days I’ll splurge on a new set but honestly I have no complaints so far.

I highly recommend Scanpan. Macys has these pans on sale periodically. They have non-stick titanium based coating. Made in Denmark. HaptIQ or Pro IQ lines would be my choice. The classic is a lower grade, and I am
not a fan of the professional line’s lids.

This is a versatile pan and can do a lot of things:

This is a great set:

I don’t do non-stick. I got my kid a set of “WearEver” pots n pans on Amazon for $70 and they were really nice, but they don’t sell them now and the “WearEver” store on Amazon turns out to be a brand of incontinence underwear.

I did find a nice set of 7 Cuisinart stainless steel pots n pans on Overstock for $144. Secret price – you’re supposed to put it in the cart to see it, but here I am spoiling the surprise. It says it’s 11 piece, but that’s if you count the lids as separate pieces. Overstock.com: Online Shopping - Bedding, Furniture, Electronics, Jewelry, Clothing & more

Why? There are non-stick coatings that have no Teflon-related issues. See Scanpan.
